On top of the hill sits the permanently unfinished Acropolis monument. It was meant to be a replica of the Parthenon in Athens, but after building started in 1822, funds quickly ran out. The monument has been left unfinished to this day.

It was often refereed to as “Edinburgh’s Shame” but today it’s a very popular tourist attraction.
